Stepping out onto Castillo Street means entering the historic district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The Cathedral of Santa Ana, the Casa de Colón, and the Triana neighborhood are just a few minutes’ walk away, as are the Museo Canario and the Vegueta Market. And when you feel like enjoying the sea, the beaches of Las Alcaravaneras and Las Canteras are about a 10–20-minute taxi ride away.

Staying at this hotel is a true privilege and a real treat. A historic mansion in Vegueta that’s been renovated and converted into four independent apartments, each with its own unique charm. You wake up in the morning—after sleeping in a bed that couldn’t be more comfortable—to the sound of the bells ringing from Las Palmas Cathedral. Everything is charming and comfortable. The neighborhood is my favorite part of the city: history around every corner and full of the most inviting restaurants. The hotel staff is very friendly and professional. They’ll resolve any issues quickly and efficiently. I’d say this is one of the best places to stay in Las Palmas.

An idyllic place to stay in Las Palmas. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Vegueta and very close to the Cathedral. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite with a private terrace and spectacular views of the city. Plus, there’s a rooftop pool right next to the suite. It’s such a treat to take a dip when you wake up or at sunset. The decor is meticulously designed down to the smallest detail, and the staff’s service and attention to cleanliness are impeccable. We’ll definitely be back.

La Colonial Suites offers four independent boutique apartments—Silbo, Castillo, Bedmar, and Ático—in a restored historic house in Vegueta, the old town of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Each apartment has its own layout and character.
It depends on the number of guests and your preferences. The four apartments each have different features. Check out the photos, capacity, and amenities for each one, and feel free to contact us if you need help choosing.
The rooftop at La Colonial Suites features a sun deck and a small pool, equipped with a heat pump to keep the water at approximately 27 to 29 °C year-round. It’s not a conventional pool. It’s a space shared by guests staying in just four apartments and is usually very quiet, making it ideal for relaxing in peace.
La Colonial Suites preserves the traditional architecture of its historic building, with thick walls and large windows that help maintain a pleasant indoor temperature for much of the year. For this reason, the apartments do not have air conditioning or heating. Gran Canaria’s mild climate, known as the “eternal spring,” adds to the comfort, although temperatures can vary and there may also be periods of heat.
La Colonial Suites does not have private parking, but there are parking options in the surrounding area. The nearby streets have green zone parking spaces, which are reserved primarily for residents and regulated Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. During those hours, non-resident visitors may park for a maximum of one hour by paying the corresponding fee. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the green zone time restrictions do not apply, provided you follow the signage on each street. To leave your vehicle for a longer period, we recommend nearby public parking lots, such as the one at the Vegueta Market. Additionally, from La Colonial Suites, you can explore Vegueta and Triana on foot—no car is needed to visit the historic center.
From Vegueta, you can combine the charm of the historic district with days at the beach. Las Alcaravaneras is about 10–15 minutes away by taxi or car, and Las Canteras is about 15–20 minutes away, depending on traffic. You can also get there by city bus.
Yes. We have our own laundry facilities. We change the sheets and towels whenever guests request it and at least every three days. The Bedmar apartment also has a private washer and dryer. In the other apartments, we offer a personal laundry service for an additional fee based on the number of items; you’ll find special laundry bags to request this service.
La Colonial Suites only accepts children 12 years of age or older. If you're traveling with your family, check the capacity of each apartment to choose the best option.
